ETYMOLOGY: Possibly from a deposit located on the island Zebirget  in the Red Sea (Formerly called Topazos).

MINERALOGY: The imperial topaz is formed primarily through neumatolíticos processes in the genesis of acidic plutonitas and, less frequently, in the formation of volcanics, its reddish orange color is due to traces of chromium, iron, manganese, titanium and vanadium. The topaz by color is pretty much worthless. The less valuable the more valuable, yellow, orange, red, pink, cherry, lilac and salmon, which is the most expensive and valuable.

MYTHOLOGY: The region of Ouro Preto is widely known for its deposits of imperial topaz. The region has more than twenty deposits of this mineral.
