CHRYSOCOLLA

ETIMOLOGY: Chrysos comes from the Greek it is "gold" and the koala "glue", as the Greeks used this mineral for welding pieces of gold.

CRYSTAL SYSTEM: Monoclinic.

PRINCIPLE OF FORMATION: Secondary.

CLASS MINERAL: Ciclosilicatos.

CHEMICAL FORMULA MINERAL ELEMENTS: CuSiO3 .2 H2O + Al, Fe, P.

HARDNESS:  2- 4 on the Mohs scale.

FIEDS: Russia, Zaire, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Great Britain, USA.


MINERALOGY:  A group of mineral silicates originates in oxidation zones of copper deposits (associated with azurite, malachite, cuprite and native copper) when the silicon-rich surface waters dissolve copper rock.


MYTHOLOGY: In ancient times it was used as an indicator miners as it is formed on top of the copper deposits. Early reviews that must date back to 315 BC., Theophrastus hand indicating that this stone can weld gold. American Indian cultures used as a healing stone chrysocolla to enhance the strength and endurance of the body and to appease the states of maximum irritability. in addition to the chrysocolla is also known as "siliceous copper."


PROPERTIES: It is said that is a natural sedative, it helps to relieve nervousness and to "keep a cool head" encourages the neutrality and clarity, inspires creativity, provides motivation and fosters joy.
